Outstanding Tiny Desk Video Format: Shots & Cast

A turning close-up, a singing band, a laugh and a sax solo: the 19 second concept gives each part of the cast a distinct moment. Use this shot guide to plan your lead and bandmates.

The five shots in the 19 second version

The lead gets the opening and longest close-up, the group brings the room energy, and the sax player takes the featured solo. The timings below describe the intended creative sequence; this build demonstrates customization and the plan gate rather than rendering a finished file.

Who goes in each photo slot?

One photo assigns the lead and leaves AI musicians to fill the other roles. Up to five photos assign every named person. Two to four photos also work, and any empty role remains with an AI musician.

  • Lead singer: the person viewers should recognize first.
  • Left backing singer: standing on the viewer’s left.
  • Right backing singer: standing on the viewer’s right.
  • Keyboard player: seated in front and also singing backing vocals.
  • Sax player: featured in the solo shot.

What the finished package includes

The product concept is a vertical MP4 at 9:16 with a trend-style edit and the intended 19 second runtime. Choose the model and resolution in the studio. This implementation intentionally ends in a simulated queue and does not claim a finished rendering.

What stays recognizable?

The lead close-up, group performance and sax moment establish the shape of the piece. Clear reference photos help the cast remain recognizable, while a shared outfit idea connects every person to the same stage.

Questions and answers

Does the lead appear more than once?

The concept gives the lead the opening and a longer close-up later in the sequence.

Do all five roles need photos?

No. One lead photo is enough, and any unfilled role can be represented by an AI musician.

Which resolutions are shown?

The studio lists 480p, 720p and 1080p, with availability varying by model.
